i HAVE read this book i WANT TO read this book

The book, ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid – 3 The Last Straw’ is a part of the book series - 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' written by Jeff Kinney. The book series revolves around the kid Greg Heffley who is naughty, honest and charming in his own way. The book has been written to portray the journey of Greg whose life is laden with exciting and adrenaline pumping adventures. This particular book talks about Greg’s training on how to become a tough man and the various troubles he faces during this journey. It has been published by Penguin UK publishers.

The underlying feature of this book is the insecurity faced by Greg’s father when he sees other kids. He tends to compare Greg with them, often feeling a sense of disappointment. Life for Greg is already harsh as their school bus has been re-zoned and he has to walk all the way to school. To add to the worries, Greg's father decides that his son must become a man and hence pushes him to do thing against his will.

First, he signs him up for Rec league soccer and expects him to become a good player in no time. But, the story takes a turn for the worst as Greg concedes a goal and ends his team’s perfect season. This comes as no surprise that he had failed to concentrate on the ball, as he was busy picking dandelions. Then, his father sends Greg to a summer military school program which takes its toll. However, Greg has decided not to join the military school with the view of impressing his father as quickly as he can. But will he be able to convince his father? Or will his father finally be able to make a man out of Greg on his own terms? This is a fascinating children's book which will leave the readers hooked.

n 2005, funbrain and Jeff Kinney released an online version of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The website made daily entries until June 2005.[3] The book became an instant hit and the online version received about 20 million views as of 2007.Many online readers requested a printed version. At the 2006 New York comic con and Kinney proposed Diary, to Charles Kochman, Editorial Director of the ComicArts division of abaram books, who purchased the rights to the book. According to Kochman, the two initially conceived it as a book for adults, believing it would have an appeal to audiences similar to that of the TV seriess. Kochman brought it before the Abrams publishing board, which convinced Kinney and Kochman that it would be better aimed toward children. In 2007, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, an abridged version of the original online book, was published

The Last Straw

Greg Heffley will never change his wimpy ways. Somebody just needs to explain that to Greg’s father. You see, Frank Heffley actually thinks he can get his son to toughen up, and he enlists Greg in organized sports and other "manly” endeavors. Of course, Greg is easily able to sidestep his father’s efforts to change him. But when Greg’s dad threatens to send him to military academy, Greg realizes he has to shape up . . or get shipped out.

The wimpy kid

Atharv Dhuvad 22-Jul-2015 Diary of a Wimpy Kid - 3: The Last Straw (English) by Jeff Kinney So funny I have always loved Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. They are addicting. But usually they never follow a storyline, they just give random incidences from Greg's life. In this book, there actually was a story. And eve though it meant having the worst football team ever, it al gave you something to think about at the end of the book.

The Last Straw

My first time reading this book was in first grade, when one of my friend gifted me this on my birthday. Ever since then, it has been enjoyable to read and re-read. It is very funny and enjoyable to see the funny ways in which Greg (the main character) suffers. Overall, a great read for beginners.
